Lu Decheng's example

Re: 'This Is China's Tragedy', Jan Wong, June 2
Jan Wong's summary of Lu Decheng's story gives us a glimpse of the
self-sacrifice of activists who strive to bring democracy and human
rights to a nation governed by pitiless dictators.
Canada should be honoured to have Mr. Lu on its soil. His courageous actions and
steadfast convictions are what is needed to reform China's corrupt and
authoritarian system.
Let's hope that Canada's politicians can follow his example and stand up for human rights
and liberty in China, despite the Chinese government's attempts to ignore such concerns.
